WealthConnect Financial Planning Expands Yorkshire Presence With Barnsley Office

Independent financial advice firm WealthConnect Financial Planning has strengthened its presence across Yorkshire with the opening of a permanent base in Barnsley.

The firm confirmed plans for an office at Barnsley Digital Media Centre earlier this summer, describing the move as the next stage in its growth across the region.

WealthConnect provides independent financial planning across areas including pensions, retirement planning, investments, tax efficient planning and estate planning.

Its website currently lists services across West and South Yorkshire, including Leeds, Sheffield, Wakefield, Barnsley, Rotherham and Huddersfield.

The business was founded by independent financial adviser Jamie Sanderson and has developed its regional presence under the WealthConnect Financial Planning brand.

The Barnsley expansion gives the business a permanent South Yorkshire location and comes as independent financial advice businesses continue to look at opportunities for growth beyond Yorkshire’s largest financial centres.

Growing demand for regional financial advice

While Leeds remains the dominant financial services centre in Yorkshire, towns and smaller cities across the region support substantial populations of business owners, professionals, families and retirees requiring financial planning.

WealthConnect’s decision to establish a permanent Barnsley presence reflects the continued importance of locally accessible advice alongside the growing use of virtual meetings and digital financial planning tools.

The firm’s adviser network already includes an independent financial adviser based in Barnsley, while WealthConnect promotes its services across both South and West Yorkshire.

The move also comes against a backdrop of significant change within the wider financial advice market.

Consolidation has dominated much of the industry’s recent growth story, with national advice groups acquiring established regional firms.

Organic expansion by independent advice businesses provides a different side of that picture, with firms developing local client bases and building their own presence within regional markets.

For Barnsley, WealthConnect’s arrival adds another independent financial advice business to a growing professional services economy serving South Yorkshire.

And for Yorkshire’s wider financial advice sector, it provides another example of firms seeing opportunities for growth beyond the traditional financial services centres.
