The Yorkshire Financial Awards is pleased to announce that Tanya Retter, Chief Executive Officer of the Chartered Banker Institute, will return to the judging panel for the 2026 awards.
Since joining the Institute in 2023, Tanya has played a pivotal role in shaping and delivering its strategic vision. She now leads the organisation’s work to raise professional standards across the banking sector, ensuring that education, ethics, and lifelong learning remain central to a responsible and future-ready profession.
With more than 20 years’ experience in financial services, Tanya brings expertise in leadership development, digital transformation, and customer and employee experience—skills developed in senior roles at NatWest and RBS. She also oversees the Institute’s global education strategy, supporting the evolving needs of banks, regulators, and individuals through qualifications and professional development programmes.
Tanya represents the Institute on the Chartered Body Alliance and the Financial Services Skills Commission (FSSC), where she contributes to national policy discussions on skills. She also chairs sector roundtables, champions innovation and inclusion, and is a prominent voice in the sector through podcasts, seminars, and keynote speaking engagements.
Commenting on her return to the panel, Tanya said:

The Yorkshire Financial Awards 2026 will take place on Thursday 7 May at New Dock Hall, Leeds. Entry registration is now open and will close on Friday 6 February 2026.
