York based Chartered Financial Planning firm, PenLife Associates, has raised an impressive £10,209 for OSCAR’s Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity. This achievement brings PenLife’s total fundraising for local charities over the past seven years to an outstanding £50,689.
The PenLife team recently presented a cheque to Sharon Reid, CEO of OSCAR’s Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity, marking another year of impactful community support. Expressing her gratitude at PenLife’s fundraising efforts, Sharon, said:
“We are absolutely thrilled with the incredible fundraising efforts from PenLife. The support they’ve shown for OSCAR’s Charity is truly remarkable, and these funds will make a real difference to families affected by childhood brain tumours. We cannot thank the whole team enough for their dedication to raising these vital funds.”
Founded in memory of nine-year-old Oscar Hughes from York, the charity is dedicated to supporting children diagnosed with brain tumours and their families, raising awareness, and funding vital research. Their work aims to improve diagnosis times, boost survival rates, and enhance the quality of life for children undergoing treatment.
Throughout 2025, PenLife’s fundraising efforts spanned a variety of creative and challenging initiatives, including completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks, swimming the equivalent width of The Channel, running an in-house snack box, hosting a quiz night, organising a cake bake sale, taking part in a curry club, and even running a “guess the number of mini eggs in the jar” competition.

Looking ahead, the team is proud to announce Yorkshire Air Ambulance as its 2026 Charity of the Year. The charity provides rapid-response emergency medical care to over 5 million people across Yorkshire’s 3 million acres, playing a vital role in saving lives across the region.
